Cheetah Outreach

So, Jade and i went to Spier and got a chance to get up close and personal with a cheetah. Not too close though, as you can see from the photos. And not this cheetah either.

The handlers are really strict when it comes to where you are allowed to stand. This particular Cheetahs name was "Joseph". Apparently he has been in movies and TV adverts, so he is kind of a celebrity!....not really. Anyways, it was interesting to learn about the cheetah outreach program and how they protect wild cheetahs from farmers (the farmers think the cheetahs kill their cattle) by means of breeding Anatolian guard dogs that protect the farmers cattle from predators.
